Pride and Prejudice

I chose to read this book because I've been meaning to read it for a while now, and I thought it would be easy to follow because I've seen the movie. So far, I love the book and although it is a bit hard to follow, I'm keeping up. So far, the Bennets have met the Binglys, Mr.Darcy, and have just met Mr. Wickham. Mr. Bingly has started to like Jane very much, forming a connection between Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy. Also, Elizabeth just met Mr. Wickham and he told her he had to say about Mr. Darcy, she started to wonder what Mr. Drarcy was really like.
There has been a lot of interactions between Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth on the subject of pride and vanity. I think that these are both emerging themes in the novel though I can't really tell at this point. Mr. Darcy is a very proud man and I think that a lot of this book will focus on him overcoming his pride.
Though I can't think of anything that I have read that is very similar to this I know that many of the books that Jane Austen wrote were very similar, in setting and also in theme.
I thought that for my creative project I might make a movie, or maybe a poster, I haven't really givin it much thought, though a movie seems like it would be very fun to do.

  1. Catherine-
I agree with you. I really like the book so for, too! I haven't read that much that is similar either. Have you seen Becoming Jane? It is about Jane Austen's life. I think it is good

  2. I love that movie!!! So sad though, i think that is why she wrote stories that had happy endings, because she didn't get to have one.
